Recap: November 2015!

I could have sworn 2015 had just begun, but here we are with only one month left in the year.  It has finally started to grow colder here in the Northern hemisphere.  Is winter really almost upon us?

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

Rating:  4.5 Keys

Carry On is a masterpiece, and you should never expect anything less from Rainbow Rowell.

Love Letters to the Dead by Ava Dellaira

Rating:  3.5 Keys

While a tad overdramatic, Love Letters to the Dead is a heartfelt novel that I enjoyed quite a lot.

A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab

Rating:  4 Keys

V.E. Schwab never fails to blow me away with her creativity.  A Darker Shade of Magic is not without flaws, but is a splendid adventure.

Umbrella Academy Volume 1: The Apocalypse Suite by Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba

Rating:  4.5 Keys

Umbrella Academy is overflowing with genius ideas and gorgeous art.  I could not have been more impressed.

  • In case you didn't notice, I redesigned my blog!  I purchased the template from Designer Blogs and could not be more pleased.  Personally, I think this new design is lovely.
  • Technologically inept me has finally figured out how to code links to pictures.  Now, if you click on a photo with the book cover (try it above), it sends you right to Goodreads.
  • I added a "Blogs I Love" page here.  The photos lead right to some of my favorite blogs.

  • NC Comicon!  I found a TARDIS and met Gerard Way with one of my good friends.  Short version:  I had a blast.
  • Thanksgiving was definitely welcomed.  A holiday (meaning no school) centered around food and family is just perfect.  Now who wants to talk about Christmas?!

Advance apologies to anyone who actually listens to this, since it skips from rock, to classical, to lyrical, to eighties feeling music.  I have odd, eclectic music tastes.

    1. No problem, Cait! 💖 And you have mentioned that you like my new template before, but I wouldn't THINK to protest if you kept on doing it. ;) However, I WILL protest if you don't read Carry On and A Darker Shade of Magic. THEY ARE BOTH SO AWESOME! Don't you want to experience awesomeness?
      Thanks for commenting, Cait!

  4. OMG, YOU MET GERARD WAY?! That's so awesome! I love him so much!! Comic Con sounds amazing too - I'm a huge Dr Who fan as well ♥ You definitely can't go wrong with a Rainbow Rowell book - I adore every single one of her books, though I think Carry On might be my favourite! :D I read ADSOM in the spring, and I enjoyed that loads too :)

I love the new design too! The pink colour scheme is so cute, and I LOVE THE FLOWERS AT THE TOP! It's perfect! ♥ Also, we have such similar music tastes! I've been listening to frnkiero andthe cellabration loads in November, and I love MCR and P!ATD too. Famous Last Words might be my favourite MCR song ever, so I'm super glad you included that one!! :D

Thank-you so much for sharing this, I really enjoyed this post! ♥

    1. YES! It was wonderful and still doesn't feel real. He is such a huge inspiration to me, both his music and his comics. MCR is my favorite band (as well as Frnkiero andthe Cellabration and P!ATD). Famous Last Words will probably stay on my playlists forever, since it is my favorite, too. ANYWAY--Doctor Who, ADSOM, and Carry On are all SO FANTASTIC.
Thanks so much for commenting and for the compliments on my new template (I love the flowers, too). 💖

  8. So, I just so happened to stumble across your blog, (don't ask me how, my memory is pretty shitty) but I love it! I really like you writing voice, so you'll definitely see me around more often, ya know, stalking like I do and whatnot lol. Wasn't A Darker Shade of Magic just amazing!? I haven't read Carry On just yet, (I know shhhh) and for some reason I haven't picked up my copy of Love Letters To The Dead either. I pretty much suck at my blogging life lol. Nice meeting you Erin :)

    1. Yay for stumbling across my blog! I don't blame you for a crap memory, since mine is also horrid. But thank you SO MUCH for all the compliments, really, they mean a lot. I definitely hope to see you around more! And ADSOM was just...wow, I don't even have words. But you should read Carry On--it is SO GOOD. Actually, all the books I read in November are awesome.
