Readers Confession Tag!

Here I am, thanks to Anna, confessing all my bookish confessions.

1.  Have you ever damaged your own book?

The only book that comes to mind is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.  I had a paperback copy, and it was so large that the stress was too much for the flimsy spine and I had to keep taping it together.

2.  Have you ever damaged a borrowed book?

Not me, per say...but my cat has knocked over cups of water onto more than one book before.

3.  How long does it take you to read a book?

It really depends on the book and on how much homework I have.

4.  Books that you haven't finished?

The Scorch Trials by James Dashner and Rapture by Lauren Kate.  I just couldn't bear to complete them.

5.  Hyped/popular books that you don't like?

I was recently disappointed by Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon.

6.  Is there any book you would not tell anyone you are reading?

If I ever read Fifty Shades of Grey, you can guarantee I would not admit it.  However, it is extremely unlikely that I will ever be put into that situation.

7.  How many books do you own?

Umm...a lot?  I also own a lot of cats.

8.  Are you a fast reader or a slow reader?

I would say I'm a fast reader, but not so quickly that I don't absorb what it is I'm reading.

9.  Do you like to buddy read?

I haven't done it before, but I would be willing to try it.

10.  Do you read better in your head or out loud?

Undoubtedly, I read better and almost exclusively in my head.

11.  If you were only allowed to own one book, what would it be and why?

If you actually think I am capable of answering this question, you're crazy.

  1. I'll have to get around to this tag soon! So many tags...so little time! :P
I think I've damaged a couple of books too - but mine was HP and the Goblet of Fire ! I had a hardback, and the spine fell off?? >.< Hence why I love paperbacks now ehehe >.<
If you ever want to buddy read - I'll probably be up for it! Depends on the book for me, but just tweet/message/get my attention somehow and I'll get back to you on it! :D
Love your David Tennant gifs and your responses~! <3

    1. You should! It was quite fun for me to write. And I am also behind on my tags, so don't worry! But, really, the Harry Potter books should have had better bindings. However, I have never heard of the SPINE of a book falling off. How peculiar. And I would LOVE to take you up on the offer of a buddy read sometime. I'll bug you incessantly about it at some point, including some more David Tennant GIFs. Thanks for commenting, Geraldine! ❤

  2. I agree with Order of Phoenix, that book is HUGE and yet the spine isn't that solid so my own copy is pretty awful now... There are few loose pages and the cover is torn. And yes the final question is definitely impossible to answer! Great answers Erin! :D

    1. Harry Potter books have always had a tendency to get a bit beat up in my house, but that may be from the amount of rereading. Half of them are missing the dust jacket. Thanks for commenting, Tasya! ❤

  3. Perfect gif for that last question!!! I read so much quicker in my head!! When I read out loud to my kids I feel like it takes forever. Cute tag!

    1. Isn't it? And I did read out loud to my dad once on a road trip. It is slow going and I tend to trip over my own tongue. Thanks for commenting, Grace! ❤

  4. I damage my books all the time. Oops? I don't actually mind that much though, which is probably a bit strange! How could anyone pick just one book to own!?!? And how could anyone count all their books!?!? At least for me, it would certainly take a while! (I remember saying I'd like to buddy read Mistborn with you but... I'm having trouble locating it...) I loved reading all your answers and thank you for tagging me! ♥

    1. Those poor books. Well, as long as they're still loved and readable, it doesn't matter! People should do whatever they choose to their books, although I do cringe to see one severely damaged. And whenever you find Mistborn, let me know! I would love to buddy read it with you, and I DO know where my copy is. Hope you have fun doing this tag, and thanks for commenting, Rebekah! ❤

  5. okay that last question was just plain SILLY. WHO COULD ONLY OWN ONE BOOK?!?! Pfft. Ahem. Oh oh but you didn't like Everything Everything? ME NEEEITHER. OMG ERIN!! FLAIL WITH ME. (Like I feel like we're the only people in the universe that didn't like it?!?! :P) I thought the plot twist made the entire book rather stupid. D: Ahem.
Also I once dropped my book in a muddy puddle while trying to take a photo of it for bookstagram. I'm still recovering.

    1. ISN'T IT?!?! Owning one book is like...Having one lung. AND I AM SO HAPPY TO HAVE FOUND ANOTHER PERSON WHO WAS DISAPPOINTED BY EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING. I thought I was the black sheep. It was enjoyable to me, but that ending especially ruined it. It completely undermined the point of the novel. And YOU'RE still recovering? What about that poor book? Anyway, thanks for commenting, Cait! ❤

  6. LOVE THIS TAG. But yeah my copy of Order of the Phoenix is the same - and I'm missing two pages which is annoying, ugh. We must be twins because I also own a lot of cats. It's a good life.

Perfect mix of gifs and photos, I doff my hat to you :)

    1. It's so fun, isn't it? I can't tell you the amount of people saying their Harry Potter books are beat up, too. They really need better bindings. And yay for cats! Thanks so much for commenting! ❤

  7. The same thing happened to my copy of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, but what's worse is that it's not even my fault. I DID use it with care, but some of my friends borrowed it from me and by the time I got the book back in my hands it was all... Argh!!! Anyway, lesson learnt, I never lend my HP books to ANYONE anymore :D Also agree with you about the reading pace- I'm a fast reader only up to the point where I can absorb and reflect on what I'm reading :)) Love the tag, Erin!

    1. THIS is the precise reason I do not lend my books to friends. I've heard enough horror stories to last a life time. Although, as a kid, the books my brother and I shared always ended up in horrid shape thanks to him... Anyway, thanks so much for commenting, Ruzaika! ❤

  8. AWW OMG YOUR CAT IS SO CUTE!! AHH AND YOU HAVE MORE?! YOU MUST DM ME PICTURES!! I used to bend the spines all the time, so some of my older books aren't in great nick, but I don't anymore - thankfully! They look so much nicer in better condition.

Thank you for the tag! I loved hearing your answers :D

    1. I KNOW HE IS SO CUTE SOMETIMES I CAN'T HANDLE IT. He is OBVIOUSLY the cutest, but I will send you pictures of the other THREE CATS. We also have two dogs. One of them once chewed a book of mine, naturally. Have fun with the tag and thanks so much for commenting, Denise! ❤
