Recap: April 2016

April is my favorite month of the year.  I won't lie, this probably had something to do with the fact that my birthday is in April.  But, hey, there's also the great weather.

Books Read

Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare

Rating:  4

The Gracekeepers by Kirsty Logan

Rating:  2

Wytches, Vol. 1 by Scott Snyder

Rating:  3.5

Highlights

  • I turned 16!  Instead of a party, my family and I took a weekend trip to DC, which I dedicated an entire post to here.

  • I got accepted to the National Honor Society for Social Studies and for our induction ceremony we had to dress up as our favorite historical figure.  I ended up going as Alan Turing because a) he's cool and b) it was an easy costume.
  • Due to a photography project for school, I discovered lights in motion photos.  I had no idea you could create images like this with a camera.

  1. Wow, April is my favourite month too what a surprise, eh?? Definitely nothing to do with birthdays, nope... XD But seriously, yay for April! I'm glad you had such a nice month! But... good weather? In April? That's so unfair! In the space of a week, we have had lovely sunshine, pouring rain, snow and even hail. In the space of a week!!! Anyway, back to the point. Congratulations on being accepted into the National Honor Society of Social Studies! The induction ceremony sounds cool, and good choice of costume. That photo is pretty awesome - how did you do it?!
    Best wishes for May! ♥

    1. I love April. It's all birthdays and flowers. But I can't believe it SNOWED and HAILED in the UK! I get a lot of spring rain, but other than that it's pretty nice. Anyway, I did the photo using a long shutter speed and moving my camera! Thanks so much for commenting and happy May, Rebekah! ♥

  3. It looks like you had a really good month! I read your blog post about your trip to DC, and it looks like you had a fantastic time. The picture you created with the light is so cool too! Did you do it with your phone, or with a special camera/app for making photos like that? ♥

    1. I did! April was hectic but super fun, especially the trip to DC. I did that photo with my camera using a slow shutter speed and moving the camera! You can also move the lights if you want. Thanks for commenting and happy May! ♥
