Top Ten Tuesday: Books That Would Be On My Syllabus If I Taught Writing 101

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created by The Broke and the Bookish.  This week they wanted the blogger to choose what subject of books they would teach to a class of impossibly bored and likely sobbing students (can you tell that I am NOT excited about my first day of school today?).  I  chose to list books with extraordinarily good writing.  I'm not talking about plots, world building, or character development.  I mean the actual words that the author chose and how they might as well be made from unicorn tears and fairy dust because of how beautiful they are.

The Cinderella Book Tag!

Cinderella was my favorite Disney movie as a child.  I think it was because of the dress, and the magic, and the talking animals.  But mostly the dress.  So imagine my excitement when Claire at Cover to Cover tagged me to do a book tag based on Cinderella (thanks Claire)!  

Top Ten Tuesday: Books I'd Love to See as Movies/TV Shows

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created by The Broke and the Bookish, and the theme this week is to list the top ten books I would love to see made into movie/TV show adaptations.  Now, I am a firm believer that not all books need to be made into movies or shows, but there are a few I would honestly kill for (just kidding).  

Waiting on Wednesday: In the Afterlight by Alexandra Bracken

The final book in The Darkest Minds series by Alexandra Bracken is coming out this month! October the 28, to be exact.  

Since the ending of Never Fade, I have wanted this book so much I could quite honestly die.  I only read the last book three months ago and I feel like the wait has been too long.  I cannot imagine what the people who read Never Fade last year are going through.  

Basically, the wait is almost over, yet I still feel like I have a million years left.  What am I supposed to do until then?  Nothing seems as exciting as this book.  Why, Alexandra Bracken, is it taking so long...?
