Top Ten Tuesday: Thanksgiving and Thankfulness

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created by The Broke and the Bookish.  This week it is Thanksgiving in America so I'm listing ten things I'm thankful for, including the usual cliches.

1.  Books

Books are my world, which is odd considering they're typically set in other worlds and realities.  But you know what I mean.  Books are everything.

2.  Music

I love music, from Tchaikovsky to My Chemical Romance. I wouldn't want to exist in a world without music.

3.  Cats

Specifically, my cat.  His name is Toby (or Toby Wan Kenobi, as we like to call him) and I am his human as much as he is my cat.

4.  The Force Awakens

I can't stand waiting for this movie any longer.  I need to see it, and now.  But I am immensely grateful we get another addition to the Star Wars universe, especially after those prequels.

5.  My family

(Dad--Tim, brother--Connor, me--Erin, mom--Karen).

Look!  I have a family!  This is one of those cliches I mentioned earlier, but it is cliche for a reason.

6.  My friends

Although I miss my friends terribly since I have moved, I am still so glad to have known them at all.  And also for texting.  In the old days I might have never talked to them again.

7.  NC Comicon

On November 15, one of my friends and I went to NC Comicon and had a truly awesome time.  I bought comic books and met Gerard Way, who wrote the Umbrella Academy and Killjoys comics, although he is better known for his music career.

8.  Art

(I didn't know what photo to add, so here is a picture I took of some flowers)

As much as I love science (but not math), art is what matters to me.  Art explores the human condition and mind in a way science just never can.

9.  Cake

Red velvet cake is my favorite, including all red velvet flavored things--chocolate, cookies, etc.

10.  Book Bloggers

Last but not least, I am beyond thankful for blogging and for all the remarkable people that come along with it.

  4. Books and music are my two favorite things in the world, it's terrible when I have to spend a day or so without them. That's especially true about music - I'm particularly dying when I accidently leave home my earbuds. I'm really, really thankful for my family - mostly my mom - and my friends! I would not be the person I am today without them - again, especially meaning my mom. Also, book bloggers make me feel like my enthusiasm towards reading is totally normal! Before joining the community I did not know anyone who was quite as addicted to reading as I've always been and that made me feel like a freak.
    Amazing list!

    1. I cannot imagine a world without books and/or magic--it certainly isn't one I would want to live in. And don't even get me started on forgetting to bring earbuds. I HAVE to bring mine everywhere I go, or else I just go mad! XD And book bloggers are some of the kindest people I have met. There's just something about sharing a passion about something and being able to talk about it freely. Thanks for commenting! :D

  5. Love it. Have to admit that I would probably have books as 3 of my top 10. Top ten authors like Emma did would be wicked hard though I might consider at 2 that she mentioned.

    1. Books, books, and MORE books! :) Books should just be all of the ten options.

  6. Aw, this is so cute and I love it - all of these things are definitely things to be thankful for. Your cat looks lovely :-) OMG WHERE WOULD WE BE WITHOUT BOOKS AND CAKE?!?! Art is so cool I just... would prefer to look at it than attempt to create it!! Me + paint = disaster. Book bloggers are the best!
Also, please tell your family that I say hello and hope you all have a very happy Thanksgiving! <3

    1. My cat IS lovely--most cats are! :D But, really, without books and cake I would be at a total loss. And art is what I live on--all forms, not just visual art! Although, I do like to draw--I just lack a patience for it. I will definitely tell them all hello for you and THANKS for the happy Thanksgiving! XD

    1. CAKE is the reason I live. Okay, maybe THAT'S an exaggeration but it proves my point--cake is one of the best inventions ever. Thanks for commenting, Cait! ♥
