Recap: July 2015!

I cannot believe that July is over!  The start of school keeps on creeping closer and closer...

In other news, I also took Drivers Ed this month...yay?  I can go get my permit now, but it was oh so boring.  Now for a vacation up North and then a week of dance camp before school...  Basically, there is no more time for sitting around and eating cupcakes.  In between the cupcakes, I did manage to read a bit...

As my first adult novel by Rainbow Rowell, Landline did pretty well.  It is hilarious (more than I am, seriously).  Rainbow Rowell has clearly been blessed by the Gods to be able to write dialogue so perfectly...

Heir of Fire is guaranteed to make you die with feels.  I need my hands on Queen of Shadows right this second.  I finally understand what it is everyone is freaking out about...  It isn't without its issues, but what book is?

The words that are able to do this book justice do not exist.  It is an infinitely profound book.  I don't think I will ever be able to stop thinking about it.  In my waking hours, in my sleep, when I'm rotting in a coffin--this book will always be at the back of my mind.

This book is more frustrating than running out of cake to eat, or air to breathe, or books to read.  SO.  MUCH.  DRAMA.  I read this because of the ballet, and I was not disappointed, although some stereotypes killed me.  I didn't really mind being killed.  That's just a casual Wednesday for me, you know?

I was held at gunpoint and forced to read this book against my will.  Well, maybe there wasn't actually a gun...  But my point stands.  I was required to read this for my school Summer project.  The writing is decent, but it is so repetitive my brain nearly melted.  Plus, I don't agree with a lot of the points brought up in this book.  Curse you high school English class.

Now I am going to go have some cake while I still have the freedom to do so.  Mmm...cake.

  1. Ooh 1984... I have to read it! Mind if I ask what cake you're going to use your freedom to eat? ;-)

    2. Ah, red velvet. A wise decision. Sorry my comment posted twice... comments sections really don't seem to like me! ;-)

  3. Mmm cupcakes... 1984 I had to read in school (a long time ago) and I don't think I quite appreciated it then. I am happy you liked Landline! I know a lot of people didn't but I thought it was good.

    1. Cupcakes are the best... I still had at least a year to go before I read 1984 in school! I couldn't wait! I thought Landline was great. Thanks for commenting!

  4. I absolutely love 1984--it's one of my favourite classics! It's sad that there won't be as much cupcake time from now on, but at least you got to read some awesome books this month (well, maybe aside from Hamlets Blackberry :P).

    1. I just ADORE 1984! Hey! That rhymes! I know... To think of all the cupcakes I won't get to eat! But I'll hopefully still have time for some more wonderful books! Thanks for commenting!

  5. Classics you find and read on your own are infinitely better than classics you are told to read. My best English teacher always avoided the word classic. It was about the story to him.
