Top Ten Tuesday: Debut Authors Who Have Me Looking Forward To Their Sophomore Novel

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created by the Broke and the Bookish, and this week I am naming ten authors who I would like to demand another book from, since their debut blew me away.  Let's see if I can make it to ten, shall we?

1.  Erin Morgenstern

Erin Morgenstern's debut novel stunned me into silence (maybe not literally--I usually don't shut up).  Ever since I read it I have been wondering this: when is she going to publish another book?  I am dying to get my hands on another novel comprised of her beautiful words.

2.  Sona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton

This book is reminiscent of Pretty Little Liars with ballet thrown in.  The dramatics are cutthroat and the ending left me hanging--basically, I have no choice but to read the sequel.

3.  Ava Dellaira

I recently read this book and was astounded to find out it was a debut novel.  I am excited to see what else the author will do with her skill for writing and understanding of human emotion.

4.  Erika Johansen

Okay, okay--I know this one already has a sequel.  I just haven't read it yet.  But I promise that I will.  I intend to read all the books I can before book burnings become a thing again (which is hopefully never).  Burn books and I'll burn you.  (Not really).  (But, seriously, don't harm books).

5.  Michelle Hodkin

This is technically a debut series, but I'm counting it anyway and also counting on Michelle Hodkin to write another soon.  Please?

Oh, look, I didn't make it to ten.  Oops.

  2. THE NIGHT CIRCUS IS A-MA-ZING. I love it so much and I can't wait to see what Erin Morgenstern does next. The Queen of the Tearling is actually sitting on my bookcase I just haven't read it yet. :-0 Oops?
I remember your review of Tiny Pretty Things! It actually sounds quite interesting, if not just for the ballet aspect. I wish I could dance so so much! :-D Brilliant list, as always Erin!

    1. The Night Circus is--hands down--one of the best fantasy stand alone's ever. And The Queen of the Tearling is such a solid book, meaning that you need to READ it! XD And I still think you would enjoy Tiny Pretty Things, even if it is dramatic. The dance parts are worth it. Thanks for commenting, Rebekah!

I really want a sequel from Jennifer Niven because All the Bright Places was just TOO WILDLY WONDERFUL. (Although, I mean, she's written adult books. But I want a YA sequel. xD)
